Ten Seventy Architecture is an architecture studio that helps people who love modern design overcome the challenges of building an accessory dwelling unit by offering an integrated design + permitting process to elevate their life to new heights with incredible architecture.

With our newly released pre-approved ADU plans, it's never been easier or more affordable to quickly build a high-end ADU in San Diego.

How Our Pre-Approved Plans Will Make Building Your ADU 10x Easier

While building an ADU in the City of San Diego has become easier over the years thanks to friendlier building regulations, going the traditional design, permitting, and construction route still presents significant challenges.

That's why we've introduced our pre-approved San Diego ADU plans to help people homeowners or property investors quickly build a high-end ADU while saving time, money, and ultimately a ton of stress. These plans are based on our Prince House ADU project and can be customized to fit the size of your lot or any additional needs you may have for your project.

Watch the video in this section for a quick overview of what you get when you use our standard ADU plans for your project.

Key Features + Benefits of Our Pre-Approved San Diego County ADU Plans

Our ADU floor plans are specifically designed to help you build an amazing ADU in a minimalist or modern style while offering you the flexibility to customize them to your lot. Make no mistake - this is anything but a cookie-cutter ADU.

High-End Modern + Minimalist Design Without The High Cost

If you're looking for an easy way to build a cool granny flat in a modern or minimalist style, our permit ready plans are the perfect solution for you. Because the framework for the design is already completed, we don't need to re-design your ADU from scratch.

Rather, we'll just need to tweak these plans to fit the size + specifications of your lot (along with any additional customization options you may want to include). This allows us to save a significant amount of time in the design process and pass these savings on to you. Because of this streamlined process, you will be able to complete the construction of your ADU weeks in advance compared to the traditional process while saving a good amount of money in the process.

And if you're planning on using the ADU as a rental unit, the extra design value offered by these plans will allow you to rent it out for far more compared to a standard ADU design.

Get Your San Diego ADU Project Done Faster

By utilizing our pre-approved ADU plans, you can get your ADU designed, permitted, and built roughly 3-4 months faster than it would typically take to build an ADU in San Diego.

Usually, the design process is one of the longest parts of an ADU project. But because the design is essentially complete here (pending any modifications you want made) we just need to draw up the final floor plans and submit them for permitting.

Once your ADU plans get approved by the City's building department (which should be faster since they have already approved very similar plans before) you can begin construction on your ADU project right away.

Have An Architect Customize Our Pre-Approved Plan For Your Lot

We get it - the last thing you want is to end up with an ADU that looks like everyone else's.

That's why we've included several customization options (such as converting the design into a two-story duplex, adding a balcony, or scaling down the the footprint of the ADU to fit tighter lots) to allow you to end up with a one-of-a-kind ADU. And we'll be adding more customization options as time goes on.

For people with a tighter budget or those simply looking to shortcut the ADU development process, these pre-approved plans represent the best of both worlds. You can use the base framework of these ADU plans to build a modern or minimalist ADU for a reasonable cost and then customize them further to build a unique ADU tailored to your project goals.
